Rain in Summer

It’s been a while since the last blog post I made, writing this while in the rhythm of the falling rains. It is summer season here in the Philippines, we started to feel the heat during the month of March. Summer but raining, I know right? Today is Sunday and the rain is still pouring  yesterday. It hasn’t stopped yet.  Before the rain happened, it was very, very hot, well, I don’t know if you guys can feel it too. Let me know if you have the same feeling. But still, I am very thankful that of rains because it gives us a cold environment, taking a pause from the heat, especially that we are  weekend days. The sky is gray, Mr. Sun is not showing and no heavy winds.  To be honest, my perspective of being productive was changed or let’s say updated. I used to describe it by accomplishing major tasks; going outside to buy something, cleaning, cooking, washing clothes and etc. But now, it has been two days today, I did nothing of those mentioned tasks. I haven’t taken a s...

The Highlights of My Year 2019

A new year is about to start and we have nothing to do with but welcome it with open arms. We have this year that we are gently closing, leaving behind those great memories. A year full of different and amazing experiences. We met a lot of people who became part of our-lives to make this year a fulfillment one or the other way around. And learning from the reality has become the biggest lesson we've got and because of it, we are making every single action to outcome it better.

I always thought that this day would come. I mean, we all knew that a new year will always come. I would like to say, "Goodbye 2019, Hello 2020!".  But before anything else, I am writing this content to share with you what were my challenges and experiences during the year of 2019.

I was like a soldier entering 2019 without a weapon. I started the year without a stable job hoping to have a new beginning to somewhere else. While waiting for the papers to be okay, I worked as a freelance software developer with my company that I supposed to work if everything was okay. I worked on with a team remotely, although it was just through internet I worked 8 hours a day or more than that 1-5 days a week. Was trained online and meetings were recorded for us remote people. Communicated through telegram and wechat were the main platform used to transmit tasks, concerns, etc., and then friendships made to the onsite co-workers. Most of them are Malays, there are Filipinos also and Chinese, yes, they are foreigners. Can you just imagine how my English struggled a lot talking with them? Just kidding. But what I've learned was my communication, especially thru English is getting better and better. HAHAHAHA. My patience was really tested, I guessed working outside Philippines is really for me. After taking time of thinking, I finally decided not to continue my papers or working with them. See the risks I made. But you know, it was not just about waiting for papers but a lot of things were also considered and some just needs to be take-in personally. I just couldn't feel the environment thinking working with them on the site or because I felt like I was not ready. I ended the freelance work with them mid of February.

It was February that a great friend of mine contacted me and offered me something. I was hesitant due to some past events happened. I took the risks. Sorry, but I was too risky this year. HAHAHA. The month of March, I went back to the city to start another page of my life. I accepted the offer. I met new friends and through them, I gained new ideas that I didn't know it existed. Receiving small amount, served as an allowance was not really okay, because I have family to sustain, like my sister's tuition, parents' medications, boarding house fees, etc. I applied locally to different companies but still got no reply yet.

God is so good because another person called me and offered me a freelance job to work with my friend too. Being so desperate, I accepted the challenge or let say the step to get accepted. Thanks, because they accepted me. So, I worked two projects one of it was just a contractual and ended it up end of May.

That was June, someone called me again and was so grateful because the company is a good one. He informed me that my application was considered, offered me, then accepted it right away.

I had my first travel, away from the city during the month of  September. Took a leave from work, spent its 3 days, including the travel time. We chose to go to Malapascua since we haven't been there. During the first day, we just spent the whole day in the island. On the second day, we spent it in Kalanggaman. It is a different island, almost 3 hours travel time from Malapascua. The island is very beautiful; white sand, clear water and fresh air. If you wanna go in there, please bring water to stay hydrated and don't forget the sunscreen!

Then my birthday came, 21st of November. Simple day for a simple girl. Yup, no kidding, as I am growing I more like spending time in a place where there's no many people. I know, I'm getting old. My boyfriend and I went to Acacia Restaurant, located somewhere on Capitol Site. They have this steak, I forgot the name, but it was yummy. Sorry, but I forgot the name. Anyway, they have lots of food in the menu. So, that's how I celebrated my birthday.

The year is near to end. Today is December 30, 2019, 2020 is coming! Last two weeks of this month are spent on in Pangabuan, Tangub City, where my home is located. Great food, talks, laughs, singing jams and movie marathon are mostly what our family is doing. Oh! I forgot I did also play Mobile Legends. Hahahaha

2020 is approaching. In other words, new beginnings will come over in each of  our lives. Continue on being positive, doing good and being faithful to the Almighty one. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Fruitful New Year!
