Rain in Summer

Image
It’s been a while since the last blog post I made, writing this while in the rhythm of the falling rains. It is summer season here in the Philippines, we started to feel the heat during the month of March. Summer but raining, I know right? Today is Sunday and the rain is still pouring  yesterday. It hasn’t stopped yet.  Before the rain happened, it was very, very hot, well, I don’t know if you guys can feel it too. Let me know if you have the same feeling. But still, I am very thankful that of rains because it gives us a cold environment, taking a pause from the heat, especially that we are  weekend days. The sky is gray, Mr. Sun is not showing and no heavy winds.  To be honest, my perspective of being productive was changed or let’s say updated. I used to describe it by accomplishing major tasks; going outside to buy something, cleaning, cooking, washing clothes and etc. But now, it has been two days today, I did nothing of those mentioned tasks. I haven’t taken a s...

How I Spent Holy Week Break

Image
Most Filipinos are from a family where most are Catholics. One of the traditions that is being celebrated every year is the Holy Week. It is a very sacred time to recollect the last of Jesus' life. The time of taking reflections of the sacrifices Jesus has done to mankind. It is also the best time to examine our personal live, especially our deeds. Holy week is celebrated in different ways. Some spend time with their families, travel internationally or locally, etc. How did you spend yours? Like everyone else, I always look forward for the Holy Week to go home in the province and do everything different from the daily routine in the city. These are the things that I did during the Holy Week: 1. Sleeping That day when we arrived in the province, my body was in hibernate mode. From an overnight travel I already slept like almost 10 hours.  Then when I got home, I slept again, after lunch and dinner I slept. You can call me now the sleeping beauty but I don't have beaut...

Anda, Bohol

Image
Summer 2018 is here, are you ready? Be ready, pack things and head to Anda, Bohol. It is one of the best beaches in the province of Bohol.  Its location is a bit far from the notable municipalities, it's about 2-3 hours away from Tagbilaran. The place is known for their tagline " magAnda,"  a tagalog word which means in English " BEAUTIFUL ". Together with my Adriann and his friends, we visited the place and stayed for 1 night at R&S Seaside Unit Accommodation Bar & Restaurant. We arrived safely Anda at night, I think 5:30 - 6: 00 pm. It was a long drive way from Tagbilaran City but before Anda, we had our Bohol land tour first in the morning. Tiring wasn't it? Our accommodation is a 3-min walk to the Quinale Beach and accessible to public market and stores. They also have restaurant but it is in the separate building or let say to the other block. In front of their resto is Coco Loco, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I recommend you t...

Camotes Islands Trip

Image
2017 was a year full of travels with friends, family and the love of my life. This year, I got a chance to travel again. Due to hectic schedule I haven't prepared our itinerary. I did some research where to go and it led me to go to Camotes Islands, specifically the town of San Francisco . Actually, I have been there already, I think it was a year ago. It was just a one day travel and had an overnight camping at Santiago Bay. This is my second time visiting the island and I still love how it is now.  The beach in Santiago is still open for public, glad that it wasn't acquired yet.  Unlike with some known islands, some  struggling with a sewerage problem, some became crowded and polluted.  Camotes is still a fresh, beautiful and amazing island. An island worth to visit. So, here are the highlights of our trip in Camotes Islands. 1. Caving Paraiso Cave      Note:  Entrace fee is 40.00 each.      Timubo Cav...

The NB Family Tries White Elephant Exchange Gift

Image
On December 20, 2017, me and my friends had our Christmas party at The Pyramid, IT Park, Cebu City. It was a night full of food, nonsense talks and smiles on our faces. That  was indeed a wonderful one! Few of us came early at the venue and while waiting of the others, we also ordered the food. We ordered 3 orders of food set worth 1, 499.00 and 2 cripsy pata.  To really feel the spirit of Christmas we all agreed that each of us must have 1 gift minimum of 100.00 for exchanging gifts. The usual for exhanging gifts is, the person must have a manito/manita to whom he or she will give the gift during the party. The other way around is by codename. Since the group doesn't have available time to meet before the said date of the party, one of us suggested the rule of exchanging, The White Elephant . So what is white elephant rule all about?According to www.whiteelephantrules.com A White Elephant Gift Exchange is a popular Christmas event where people vie to walk awa...

Life Lessons Up To Now

Image
Some people disregard what's happening and thoroughly miss the whole trip. Some deliberately overlook it or attempt to. Some are so freaked out by it they go insane. However, there are still so many who acknowledge and make the most of their favorable luck. Life is just so wonderful. Goodbye 22, hello 23! The fact that today is my birthday, allow me to share the things I have learned in life. 1. Be grateful. Big or small things you have to be thankful for it. For the life you have right now, it might not be the same with others, still you've got a chance to live in this world. 2. Criticism is always there. Wherever you go and whatever you do you will be criticized. Even if you are doing good, people will always attack you because of this.. that.. whatever. You have to stand and just believe yourself. 3. People are changing. Even if you were the best of all the best friends on Earth for like 10 years or more than that, the way you approach each other will be chang...

International Cake Baking at Caro and Marie

Image
One of my bucket list has been checked already and that is to learn baking. Luckily, I got a chance to enroll at Caro and Marie for a one-day lesson of cake baking. During the class, the chef ask everybody who are first time in baking and I was like waiting for others to hands up. Thank God! I was not alone in the class. There's a guy who was a first timer  also, so then I raised my hand up too. A follow up question from the chef was, "Why did you choose baking?". I just said that it will be an additional skill for myself. For a change from being a software developer who is always on the computer. My one-day baking session is worth 2,000.00 pesos and all about International Cakes. I was patiently waiting for that baking session and finally it was scheduled on Monday. Luckily, it was a holiday. Our chef was Mr. Ronald ... He guided us through out the whole session and gave some tips not only on baking but also on the costing part. So we only baked 5 different flav...

The Memorable Beauty of Siargao

Image
Siargao is known as the Philippines's surfing capital. It is situated in the eastern part of Northern Mindanao's Surigao Del Norte. Aside of being famous to surfing, there are so much more precious things about the island of Siargao that made it like no other. A place to treasure and a  must-see in the Philippines. Siargao is utterly beautiful. The locals are very friendly. You can vibe with them everyday, all day long. Different kind of nationalities stayed long in the island for vacation. Some have left their lives and totally relocated in. There are a lot of inexpensive and luxurious accommodations, delectable food to eat and things to do. In addition to surf spots, there are Sugba Lagoon, Magpupungko Beach and Natural Pool, and some neighboring islands that have white sand and luminous water. Siargao is just so amazing. My friends and I spent only 4 days and 3 nights, and here are the memorable parts of the whole trip. Only in beautiful Siargao! Cloud 9 ...
